Sylvia
is a Psychologist and a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.She is founder of the International Institute for Cognitive Therapy in the UK.  The Institute offers online and presential training on a range of topics related to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

 

Sylvia has many years' experience in organising and delivering training in Europe and the USA on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for a variety of academic institutions and private organisations. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Ulster, where she teaches Cognitive Behavioural approaches.

 

Silvia trained at University of Valencia (Spain) in which she obtained her BSc Hons. Degree in Psychology in 1991. She holds a Masters degree in Counselling & Guidance and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Ulster (UK).

 

She was the former founder of the International Trauma Institute, together with Dr. Mervin R. Smucker, offering training on PTSD and related conditions to mental health professionals all over the world.

 

Sylvia is also a regular presenter at International Conferences. Her main interests are Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive and Panic disorders.
